A day at Pittsburgh Zoo!

Today has been amazing! Time off is something of a treat!! We decided to head to Pittsburgh zoo for the day with everyone from camp. It was such a beautiful day (until it started raining) but we had so much fun!!

Busy busy busy!!!!

This has been a crazy week and a half. The Blazing Saddles girls left but they had a great week! They left some lovely photos for me!! 

The last few days has been the Mum and me session at camp, this is where any aged girl can come to camp and spend it with their mum. It was fun for the girls but I definitely prefer them without their mums!!! It was tough work but only a day and a half long! We have another one later on but we have 3 days off! I was invited home with one of my friends McFly so I can at least chill for a few days and sleep!!!!

First session with kids!

Its been so much fun but the first session is half way through! I have 4 campers in my unit and we've had a great time! The girls are really nice and I've all seen them grow in confidence since arriving which was really lovely! Some girls from other units too won't stop following me around as well, they are so funny!

I've also bought some camp gear which is so nice - great memories! 

We've found out our groups for the next few sessions; I have the Blazin' Saddles (horse camp) which should be really good!

1 Week In!

I'm trying so hard to update my blog but its so difficult to find the time!!!! 

I can't believe I've been here more than a week and I have not stopped! 

So this week has been staff training so we've been bonding and learning everything we need to know for camp. 

We've had loads of different things to do, like a Super Seller party yesterday for the girls in the area who have sold over 500 boxes of cookies, it was so fun as I was in charge of the Slip 'n Slide which involves water and soap = best combo! 

We had a day of on Thursday where we all went out for a meal and ice cream which was pretty great! However, we did see funnel clouds (mini tornadoes!) which freaked all the international staff out! Everyone said it was normal but still - It was freaky! 

In addition to that we were on Severe Storm Warning last night (we had a black out which was fun!!) and we are on Flood Watch as its been raining so much! Its a fun life!

Not sure there's much else to say apart from I moved into a yurt yesterday which is definitely a different experience to the tents!!

Camp is amazing... And C R A Z Y!!

I've been here 4 days and this is the first time I've had enough time to write a blog post!! 

I arrived safely on Saturday after a really really long day! I finally got to camp at around 6 my time and managed to find some dinner in the kitchen, that was fun as we were pretty much raiding the cupboards!! Anyway I was so so so tired and I really wanted to go to bed but I really needed to go to Walmart for a water bottle so we went on a road trip! 

We got back at about 11 so I'd been up for 24 hours and finally crashed into my bed. Oh I forgot to mention, the tents are so so cool! They open each end so you can open them if it gets really hot. Anyway, I slept for about 2 hours, it was so so bad!

Anyway since then I had just been getting to know everyone and everything and have been busy doing jobs around camp for opening. Its crazzzzyyyy!! 

My camp name is Dora so I am able to find loads of Dora themed stuff to decorate my tent with.

24 Hours and counting....!

I'm leaving tomorrow!! Ah!!

I honestly can't believe how quickly the time has gone. I have a bag that weighs exactly the same as the maximum weight but I'm really ready to go! 

The downside is that today is going to go really sloooowly :( I'm going to try and keep myself busy! I'm also off out for dinner tonight as a family farewell which should be really lovely.
